They may have missed each other at The Golden Globes last weekend, but ex-spouses Brad Pitt, 46, and Jennifer Aniston, 40, were totally in the same room last night for George Clooney’s star-studded Haiti telethon — and Angelina Jolie, 34, was nowhere to be seen! Since splitting in 2005, Brad and Jen have only been in the same place one time — the 2009 Academy Awards — so this is a big deal!
While Jen took calls from generous donors, Brad told this touching story to the camera, before introducing Haitian artist Emily Michelle:
“In that first night after the quake, while the dust was still settling, a sound weaved its way through the darkness,” Brad said. “There in the small city of Jacmel, amongst the ruins and rubble, sat a lone musician playing his guitar. He played for his fellow artists, who were now gone. He played for the fathers who had lost sons, for the sons who had lost mothers and for the sisters who had lost brothers. He played to make sense of the incomprehensible devastation that consumed his broken city. And through the night, more than ever, he played for those who carry on.”
