Rihanna won't be performing at this year's Grammys.

And she reckons she knows why.

The singer says she messed up last year's show with the drama that occurred between her and ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.

Rihanna was due to perform at last year's event with Chris, but they had to cancel at the last minute after he attacked her before the show.

Speaking about the drama, Rihanna said: "We messed up the show pretty bad last year, so they're probably a little mad at me right now."

We don't think anyone's mad at you, Rihanna.

She is up for two awards this year, and is expected to attend the event in Los Angeles this Sunday.

Rihanna's new boyfriend Matt Kemp has confirmed that the stars are having "fun" together.

Rumors swirled after the pair was spotted travelling back from the singer's New Year's Eve concert in the United Arab Emirates.

Rihanna was then snapped smooching the 25-year-old Los Angeles Dodgers baseball star during a romantic vacation in the Mexican resort of Cabo San Lucas.

And a representative for Kemp reveals that a romance is blossoming.

His agent Dave Stewart tells People.com, "They've only had a few opportunities to be together, but those times have been fun."

Rihanna is feeling the love for a certain British songstress.

Step forward Cheryl Cole.

Rihanna told the Daily Mirror: "Cheryl is cute and incredible.

"I'd love to have her on the tour, in Europe or in America.

"I think I could help her break into the States. She'd wow them."

That she would.

But the question is thus: is the US big enough for both Ri and Chez?

The R&B beauty took some time out of the spotlight after she was assaulted by her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown following a pre-Grammy Awards party.

She bounced back last month with a brand new album, Rated R, and a newfound confidence and she put it all on display when she hit the stage at the Hammerstein Ballroom for The Release, MySpace Music's urban music concert series.

Backed by a full band and two backing singers, Rihanna commanded attention in her shimmering silver mini-dress as she announced her return with new track Wait Your Turn.

She kept the crowd dancing and singing all the way through her 30-minute set with renditions of her older hits Please Don't Stop The Music, Take A Bow, Disturbia and Umbrella, bounding across the stage and raunchily groping the crotch of a male mannequin.

Rihanna completed her set with Run This Town - without Jay-Z - and TI's Live Your Life, and new songs Hard and Russian Roulette.
