Jennifer Lopez will be performing tonight at New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. The singer will join Ryan Seacrest in Times’ Square tonight, and apparently he was the one who convinced her to do it!

According to Latina magazine, New Year's Rockin' Eve producer Larry Klein says it all started at the American Music Awards.

"Jennifer was onstage in rehearsals at the AMA's, and her manager Benny Medina was sitting next to me, and I said, 'Right now, I'm looking at Times Square, New Year's Eve. You've got to join us that night.'"

But J. Lo wasn’t convinced. That’s where Seacrest comes in. “No kidding, Marc and Jennifer came over to my house and literally walked through what it would be like in Times Square, and now we've got a stage built here [in that spot in my house]. That's exactly what happened. "It's a small house! You can put that in there," joked Ryan.

Guess having a stage in your own house is a great negotiating tool! Lopez will join Fergie, who’s hosting segments in LA, and Selena Gomez, who will also take the stage.
